Round Robin rules and scheduling
Calculate the match count before choosing all-play-all. Round Robin provides multiple encounters but requires more court time as the field grows.
Compare four, six and eight entries
Four entries produce 6 matches, six produce 15 and eight produce 28. Each entry plays n − 1 matches in a single Round Robin. Use these counts to judge whether the format fits your venue booking.
Match and round counts
For n entries, a single Round Robin has n × (n − 1) / 2 matches. Six entries produce 15 matches, with five matches per entry. An odd entry count requires a bye in each round.
Results and tied standings
Report scores and review the standings. Organizers can choose the tie-break order, such as wins, sets, game difference and head-to-head. Announce the order before play.
Plan court time
Court count and match duration determine the schedule length. Allow for changeovers and breaks; a generated schedule cannot guarantee matches finish on time.
